Winter holiday inspiration

I’m currently hunkered down in a small motel. Well, when I say motel I really mean an old plane from the 1940s which has been converted into a motel room. The cockpit has another bedroom, however it is too cold to sleep up there tonight.

Since it has been so cold, I’ve had to think carefully about the sorts of clothes to wear. I’m not in Auckland anymore.

I haven’t had to wear this many layers since living in the UK. Crazy.

My favourite winter item is jumpers. I love jumpers. They are cozy and warm and suit so many different outfits.

I didn’t have much to do tonight once arriving at the motel, so I spent my time creating  new outfits.

Let’s go sailing

One of my favourite dresses at the moment is a Miss Patina sundress.

Vintage Party Dress

Yesterday my Opa held his 80th birthday party.  I had a lovely time.

I took a long time deciding what to wear.  I was going to wear one of my 1960s skirts and a lacy top but then I went shopping at Smoove in Auckland.

I bought 2 lovely dresses.

The one I chose to wear was black with flowers.  I also wore my floral stockings and 1940s high heels.

I love how the dress seems so delicate.  I think the floral pattern helps with that!

I can’t wait to show you the other dress I got.

If you haven’t been to Smoove yet and you live in Auckland, you should definitely go.  It is a great shop and the people are really lovely in there.  They have a selection of clothing – from Vintage reworked to brand new clothes.  They have really awesome skirts with cool patterns of skylines etc.

Lacy Skirt With A Pussy Bow Blouse: OOTD

One of my wardrobe must-haves is lace.  Lace is so delicate and lovely.  It really creates a chic look and dresses up any outfit.  I love the way lace makes outfits vintage-esque.

Teacup Crochet Keds: OOTD

There’s nothing I love more than my teacup crochet keds.  Yes, that does sound rather materialistic, but does it really matter?

OOTD Midi Skirt

Midi skirts are probably one of my favourite skirt lengths.  I own quite a few now.  My favourite midi skirt will have to be the one I am wearing in my outfit today.

Checked Trousers and Lace

I have decided to do an OOTD post today.  I haven’t done one in a while, but now I have a lot of clothing inspiration (mostly due to the change in season).

Today I wore my favourite pair of checked trousers and matched them with a lace 3/4 sleeve top from Glassons.  I love the lace top because it is old fashioned looking and really suits the look of the trousers (which are from ASOS).

My outfits name: Checked trousers and lace.

Cool, huh?
