Going Makeup Free? But It’s My Warpaint.

It’s no secret.  I love makeup.  I love buying new products and I love trying out new looks.

During the week I tend not to wear makeup because I know that by the end of the day there would be none left where it should be.  Teaching is a stressful job.

I like wearing makeup on the weekend and on Fridays. Fridays because I usually have a little extra time to get ready in the morning.

During the week I just wear a little bit of concealer for dark circles and blemishes.  That is, if I have time.  I always wear moisturiser with SPF in it because I want to keep my skin nice and not skin damaged.

I’m not a morning person.  I wake up as late as I possibly can and zoom around getting prepared for the day.

I’m normally running late.  Last year I was working closer to home so I had more time to put makeup on.  This year since I’m further away I don’t have time!  I’ve actually noticed a huge difference.  My skin is clearer, I’m getting less spots and my face feels cleaner.  It’s probably because the pores aren’t getting covered up.

A few weeks ago I was unwell, so while I was off sick I wore nothing on my face.  No moisturiser, no concealer.  It was amazing! My skin was so clean and spot free!  But in saying that moisturiser is always a product empty.

I think that people should go makeup free at least once or twice a week.  Unless you’re like me and it’s makeup free 5 times a week and 2 days with makeup.

But then, at the end of the day there is nothing quite like a nice slick of lipstick.  It really pulls together a look.

What are your thoughts on makeup free?  Do you ever go makeup free?  Or is makeup like your warpaint.

P.S.  I know the photo up the top has nothing to do with makeup 😀

  1. Loved your post. I’d like to go completely makeup free especially since I tend to breakout when stressed but bring fair skinned and a redhead I feel my eyes look naked without mascara. That’s my one go to product for weekdays that I always try to make time for.
