Great Blogging Resources For An Obsessed Blogger

I admit it: I am obsessed with blogging.  I love blogging.  It is fun, you meet so many other people (from all over the world) and it’s a fantastic way to get your ideas out there.

I first started out as a mainly OOTD blog.  I ended up taking a break for a year or so and then came back with fresh ideas and a new focus for my blog.

I love doing makeup reviews and I also love writing about fashion and vintage clothing.

I have a few great blogging resources that I use to help me with my writing and ideas.

1) Blog INC. – Blogging for Passion, Profit and to Create Community by Joy Deangdeelert Cho.

I chose this book (from the library) because I enjoy reading and getting advice from places other than the net.  It’s good to be able to bookmark a few pages in the book and use them for reference when needed.

2) Blogging for Creatives – How designers, artists, crafters and writers can blog to make contacts, win business and build success by Robin Houghton.

I would love to make my blog my full time job one day.  That or be a magazine editor or a stylist.  Man, there are so many things I want to do.

I love this book (also from the library) because it is great to get ideas and tips from other bloggers and see how they get inspiration.

3) CSS3 -add style to your web pages by Mike McGrath.

I am going to try to teach myself the art of CSS so that I can make my blog look how I want it to look.  I have a great vision for my blog, it’s just getting there.

This book has been really helpful so far! If you want to use CSS or you want to make your blog ‘better’ check this book out!

4)  A workspace.

I would love to have a clean, tidy, minimalistic workplace.  But, I am trying to clean off my desk at home (and book case…book hoarder here) so that I can blog there.

At the moment I blog on or in my bed.  It’s comfy for sure, but I want to have a place where I can put my desk planner (I got it for work originally, but I’m going to bring it back home) from Kikki K, my diary and laptop.  I am also looking for a comfy chair.

5) A laptop.

This is a no-brainer.  My laptop is probably the most important thing here.  If I had no computer I’d have to use my phone to blog.  That just wouldn’t be ideal!  I am tempted to say that Macbooks are the best…but I have a Lenovo computer.  I use my work Macbook to blog a lot though.  One of the pros of being a teacher is that we get a free laptop from work!

6) A Camera.

If you are a blogger on of the other most important things you need is a camera.  I recently bought a new camera – it is going to double as my blog and travel camera.

Photos are one of the most important parts of being a fashion/beauty blogger.

7) Smartphone

I think phones are great and are very beneficial for blogging.  Especially when you go out (without your camera) and find something that would be great to blog about.  It’s great for writing notes or ideas for your blog as well.

8) Google Calendars

I plan all my posts on there so that I have a clear idea of what I need to post each day.  Some days I don’t use it, because I am inspired by something else.  Needless to say, all of my planned posts are things I am inspired by or things I am going to try (in regards to makeup and beauty).

9) Pinterest

I enjoy looking at street style fashion from around the world.  Especially when I am trying to mix vintage and modern looks together.  Pinterest has a huge number of fashion and makeup looks/photos.

All of these are the things that make my blog run.

There are some here, like laptops and cameras etc. that you already know of.  I hope that the books that I’ve mentioned on here are useful!

Do you have any blogging resources that you can’t live without?
