How To Dress In A Classy Way

I am a firm believer of dressing in a classy way.

I do adore wearing short shorts and crop tops, however I only ever pair these two if the shorts are high waisted.  Short shorts for me do not show more than they should

Clothes are art and the less material the less arty it seems to me!

Classy doesn’t have to mean boring, long, dowdy skirts that cover up your frame.   For me, dressing in a classy way means you know your body well and you know what works and what doesn’t.  It also means you can wear tailored, fitted clothes to show off your figure, without showing too much skin.

You can add pops of colour and accessories to jazz up your outfits:

Focus on only one body part at a time:

If I want to show off my legs, I only show off my legs.

I think shoes, are a very important part of being classy.  Shoes can make or break an outfit.  My usual shoe choices are heels.  I like how they dress up an outfit.  However, I do have a few pairs of lovely flats that are dressy looking.

I like dressing up every day.  I feel that it is so important to dress nicely:

I grew up watching movies from the 30s and 40s.  The women always seemed so well put together and I dreamed of dressing like them.  The high waists, structure, shoulder pads, fitted clothes really stood out for me.

1940's fashion. What a great look . . . skirt fullness and length, blouse proportions. And you've got to love all the 40's ankle-tie or strapped shoes.

The most important part is using your own, unique style to create your own classy look.  Like the great Anna Wintour said:
Spending money on the most expensive brands and clothes isn’t going to instantly make your look classy and fabulous, you need to know the clothes you are wearing.  You need to know how to pull the look together and best of all you have to wear the clothes and not let the clothes wear you. (I’m not too sure where that saying comes from.  Anyone know?).
