Fashion Affair: The 60s

Picture this:

Boxy, shift dresses.  Perfect hair and makeup. Cute heels and little handbags.

The following women are my main fashpiration (fashion + inspiration).  The 60s really influence my look, although I am influenced by the 30s, 40s and 50s.  The 1960s look was my first love.

Audrey Hepburn.

You got it.  I’m talking about the 60s. Yes, I know, she first became famous in the 50s, but I love her sleeveless, classic sixties, shift style dresses peered with little heels and a cute handbag.  I pretty much grew up watching Audrey Hepburn movies.  She is the number one reason why I love 60s fashion so much.   My eyebrows are modelled after hers too 🙂

Twiggy:

Pixie cut inspiration.  She’s pretty much the reason I got my hair cut off.  I had been dreaming of a pixie cut for years, but kept being told (by my sister and mum) that I’d look like a boy.  I got it cut off last year and haven’t looked back.  No regrets.

Brigette Bardot:

How can I show my inspiration without having Brigette Bardot mentioned?

Patti Boyd:

Those dresses.  I love them.

Elizabeth Taylor:

Need I say anything?

So, I know that there are HEAPS of style icons from the 60s.  Keep in mind that these are the ones that inspire me.  I really like mixing up vintage styles with modern fashion.

Quote of the day:

Live life the Elizabeth Taylor way:

I feel very adventurous.  There are so many doors to be opened, and I’m not afraid to look behind them.

Sorry, no outfit photo today.  I was busy painting and cleaning my house all day!

Have a happy day 🙂
